| Update on my life...If you have an hr!! So, I know that you're all wondering whats been going on in my life... House-- The house is coming along, slowly but surely... Or so they say... The selling agent dropped the ball on the termite report and the HOA documents that we needed before the 17th day of Escrow. It is now the 23rd day and we just received the termite report yesterday and the HOA report hasn't even been ordered!! *GASP* This has now pushed our closing date back a week, possibly more. We can't draw up the official loan documents until we've received all the documents and then after they've been drawn up, it will still take about a week after we sign them for it to close. So, now we're looking at hopefully June 7th or 8th. So, the housewarming party will be sometime soon after that... **For those of you that didn't know, Skitch and I are buying a house!! A cute two bedroom, 1 1/2 bathroom townhome. We're on the ground floor so nobody is above or below us. We have a lovely backyard with grass for Suki!! It's lovely! and the backyard--
Suki--As most of you know we switched vets because the one we first had just wasn't fixing his allergies.. We went to a new one and they made him stop itching for a couple of weeks but just last week, he started itching again... So we took him back into the vet today and they gave him some more food and medicine. They have him on a food allergy test so for two months he's only allowed to have Venison and Potato dog food and nothing else. I don't think he's allergic to the food but I'll give it another month then its on to a different kind of medicine that is A LOT more expensive. We don't really have a choice because we've gotta give him something but it is an extra $100/month. Right now we have it but once we start having the mortgage, I'm just not sure... New dog--But we have decided to adopt another young dog. This time we're definitely going to get the insurance before we take him to the vet for a check up!! Then the insurance will cover everything, unlike Suki's allergies... We've decided that a young (not puppy though) female would be a perfect companion for Suki. Then he can play with her when Chris and I are at work. Plus, I really like not being the only girl in the house!! So, we've been doing a lot of research on adding a new dog to the home, which breeds work best with Jack Russells, and where to adopt from. I really like the companies that have taken upon themselves to rescue the animals from the shelters because the dogs didn't show well or whatever. So, I've been using Petfinder.com and looking around Orange County for the perfect new addition to our family. Does anybody know any other good sites? Job--My job is stressful, but I like it. I like Paychex. Its a good company and I'm proud to say that I work for them. I mean, I don't always agree with everything they do, but who does?!? I just got accepted into a one-week special class in June that if I pass, I will get a promotion and a 10% raise!! Thankfully this time I'm able to stay at my office and not have to go back to New York. I liked New York and all the people that I met there but I hated being away from my boys for so long! Then my one year is coming up at the beginning of July and I'll be getting a one year raise with that!! Cha-ching!! Plus, I've really got the best clients. The new vet that we're actually going to is one of my clients. We're going to hire movers to help us move into our new house and they're one of my clients too! I'm making a lot of connections out here because I do have 275 clients in all different fields--restuarants, vets, doctors, electrictians, movers, realtors, CPAs, lawyers, etc. I speak to these people several times a month, so it's no surprise that we create a relationship with our clients. I talk to one every week for about a 1/2 hr and her payroll only takes about 6 minutes!! She's even coming to our housewarming party!! Heck, I just sent a friend invitation to one of my clients on here!! Don't even get me started on how fabulous my coworkers are!! Enough about that though...
Wedding--Well, we set a date- 06/07/08. But now that we're buying a house, we've been told not to wait until next year. It is going to make our taxes really complicated if we're not filing jointly since the house is going to be in both of our names. So, perhaps a small tiny ceremony right at the court house with my immediate family--mom, crystal, josh, grandma, and her husband, and then Chris' immediate family--his mom, dad, Tim (brother), Tony (brother), Barbara (Tony's wife) and their two kids... Then have two receptions: one here and one there! You guys can attend whichever is closest! Other news--My little sister will be flying out Wed. June 13th and staying with us for 6 weeks, (to which Chris still shudders...)! I'm really really excited! I've not seen her since Thanksgiving... We're planning all the stuff that we're going to do with her and its just making me even more excited. I really miss my family, even if I don't miss Indiana... If that makes any sense! I've been out of high school for 5 years already. Can you believe it?!? Its just crazy. People that I graduated with are already married and have kids going into Pre-K & Kindergarten!!
Alright, I'm going to eat my yummy banana pudding & strawberry pie...*drools* Have a great holiday weekend!! Don't forget to remember why we have an extra day off!!! |
